SAT making up for GPA?

<p>Just how much can fantastic SAT and SATII scores make up for poor GPAs? Unfortunately my high school always told students that universities only look at your top grade 11 and 12 marks, but failed to mention that this was only for Canadian universities. I didn’t realise until much later that American universities look at your whole high school GPA :/</p>
