SAT Math 2 Advice

It seems like everyone on this forum has little to no problems with the general sat math section or the sat math 2 subject test while those seem the most difficult for myself. I was just wondering, when it comes to the sat math 2 subject test, besides the general Barron’s and Dr. Chung’s book, which have a reputation for being really hard, what resources can I use that will give me step by step explanations of the equations seen in the real test? I’ve been doing the questions on the College board’s website but the explanations are awful and I have yet to get a single answer right so I doubt a book that tests more challenging concepts will do me any good at my current level :frowning:

Are they really? I just did the first ~6 or so and looked at the explanations, and they are quite clear.

What is the purpose of your comment?
Nevermind, I am just going to use the sparknotes for SAT Math 2 because that explains all the concepts covered in the test and explains everything, which is what I need and what the collegeboard’s website does not provide. It is not just with the SAT math 2, but with the other subject tests as well. If you already know what they are asking for of course it’s going to be clear. Thank you for your input though.

@cthulhi You could always post questions you are unsure of on here, and we’d be happy to provide a clearer explanation! :slight_smile:

The College Board practice questions do tend to offer lackluster explanations, but there are a few other websites that can offer better information :slight_smile: When I was studying for the Math 2 subject test I used a few different sources just to make sure that I was getting a broad range of possible questions, and these were the websites I found to be most relative to the actual material presented on the SAT;

Good luck :slight_smile:

@cthulhi Another option would be to get the Official Guide to the SAT Math Subject tests. It has four tests: two for Level 2 math and two for Level 1 math. There is overlap between the two tests, and you can use Level 1 for additional practice, especially if you are struggling with basics. Here is the link to the book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0874477727/st06202-20

@EngineBus2015 - Thank you, but that list would be miles long. I am more so focused on the type of thinking and background knowledge that goes into solving the problems on the test that I seem to be severely lacking in.
@HastyCentaur & @SATQuantum Thank you.
