SAT Math Hard Question Plateau

How do I get past the SAT Math plateau? I can get all the easy questions and most of the medium questions right, but the hard ones stump me. I can usually only answer a few. Please help and give suggestions on what prep books to buy besides Barrons 2400.
Thanks

Practice, practice, practice! Oh, and review any concepts with which you are unfamilliar. Any good prep book should remedy any knowledge-gaps.

One of the most interesting thing about the hard questions is that there is usually (but not always) a really easy way to solve the problems. You need to look for the easy way…and yes, prep books or tutors or posting questions to this forum can help you see the easy ways… You should focus on figuring out alternative ways to solve the toughest problems…if you can think of two or three different approaches to each question, you’re on the right track.

Pete is correct. Try to step back and visualize the problem in temporal space. Sometimes all you need to do is rearrange a few terms, and subtract two equations to easily solve. But, first you need to visualize the rearrangement.
