I will be applying to the College of Engineering to schools such as UC Berkeley and Cornell. The thing is that on my SAT I, my math score was 730 (740 superscore). My score was 780CR/730(740)M/770W/2280 composite. A math reasoning score of 730/740 is in the lower percentiles for CoE applicants, but my Math IIc SAT score is 800. I’m wondering how the CoE’s will view this. Does the 800 in Math II outweigh my low Math I score? I am a little concerned. I’ve also heard that adcoms realize that the difference between a 730 and something like a 790 on the math SAT I section is usually only a 1-2 question difference, so perhaps I’ll be fine?
