SAT May 2009 CR

I put specific details as well. My problem wasn’t the Russian passage, it was the celebrity. I think that the celebrity passage was ■■■■■■■■.

what about one of the short passage questions?
the one about the love of words, regardless of current literature and career poets.

was the answer disdain? or attempt to recapture youth?

archaeologist was horrible as well.

The tone was sardonic?

The other answer is “being provocative”.

the archaeologist question, where she called them scavangers…was that showing disdain or being provocative?

I could be wrong, but I don’t remember reading a passage about that. Did you have a CR experimental?

I said sardonic, and purposefully provocative.

in the celebrity passage, the passage 2 guy “tooting” was mildly self-ridiculing himself right?

Provocative

hey guys,

quick question-- was the venice passage experimental? i kind of liked that one.

and i agree-- the celebrity one was the worst. i wasnt sure about the last couple of questions, like what was the view on the “standard value”-- was deciding between dismay and uncertainty, went with uncertainty.

and there was another question i put down “that some people use celebrity to advance themselves”

was so hoping that was experimental!

I bombed so much on the critical reading sections…man i suck donkey balls.

My test person kept cutting me short half a minute or one minute for each section, and there was a loud clock thingy that kept on clicking every second.

I must have not been able to answer at least 10 questions on the passages because of time, and did not even get a start on that chemistry one. I did okay on math though.

mildly self-ridiculing is correct.

For the celeb passage, what was “Visual artists, writers, and authors” would most likely view the “standards” in passage 1 with what? dismay or uncertainty?

van_sant, celebrity not experimental!

Venice could be experimental. Because I had 4 math sections not 3 so I think one of my math is experimental. Does that mean all of my critical reading is standard/core? So that would mean Venice, which I didn’t have, is experimental?

dismay is correct.

plagirism ones- what did both passages talk about?

I was unsure on that one.

it was like the reactions to plagarism

“in the celebrity passage, the passage 2 guy “tooting” was mildly self-ridiculing himself right”

said that one, but I was considering shamelessly conceited…but i decided that was an exaggeration

powerbomb- said dismay

“plagirism ones- what did both passages talk about”

plagiarism among scholars

I had venice, but also had 4 CR. So its possible its still experimental i guess. I hope its not, that one wasnt that bad
