Hated this essay Probably a 8 or something. Couldn’t think of anything.

I didn’t really like that essay too much. I spent like 5 minutes thinking of situations involving young and old people for some reason, and couldn’t think of anything in history. And then I don’t read much so I spent forever thinking of books that fit this that were non-Harry Potter and non-Star Wars. So at the end I decided to use Joy Luck Club and some other book.

I liked the essay. I thought it was alright.

Ari - I wrote about Dumbledore!!!
Hahaha. high five!

I wrote about war vets, parents and Dumbledore.

i really liked the essay. i wrote about my grandfather being a world war 2 vet, and william wilberforce (outlawed slavery in England) who took advice from his old priest. filled the full 2 pages

Another appearance vs reality essay. I felt it was pretty easy, didnt have enough time to check over though. I used Pierre Trudeau (thank you to whoever told me to use it), Albert Einstein, and Fitzwilliam Darcy from Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice.

do us students have a different topic? I do not see how ppl could use dumbledore for the topic i got (im international, canada)

Really? I was relieved when I saw it, it was something BSable. I just used personal examples hopefully I made sense though. I’m just glad it wasn’t one of those super obscure ones.

i wrote mine on The Quiet American…Pyle is naive and doesn’t listen to Fowler.

…what was ever1s topic?

I remember using Ernest Green (we just learned about him in US history), Holocaust, WWII, Andy Rooney (lol I couldn’t really think of a lot of old people), Vietnam, Elie Wiesel and “Night”

I used 1984 and the importance of the past

I didn’t like this essay much at all, to be honest.
I used Nixon, teenagers/adults, and MLK. i did NOT know what to write for this prompt

March one was so much better. T_T

HELLO I MUST KNOW what was the topic everyone had please, i have a feeling mine was different.

Wait…Seasons - your examples had to do with the experiences of the elderly and they benefit us? - Learning from them?

no i guess international is different

@Miss_murd3r yep, idk I was just naming events from the past that we could learn about better by hearing first hand accounts from elderly who were there

I disagreed with the prompt and used Various Historical Figures/ Invisible Man. Said if we solely listened to our elders/experienced contemporaries we would be doomed to their same biases and tied it in with racism… Eh. =/

yah wow i think international was definitely different haha

Lol, I said “No” because in today’s society, with rapid technology change, we know better than our elders and that older people tend to have other views (racism is okay) which are different today.

o_O Yeah nothing said so far sounds anything like my prompt… I thought there were three different ones people could get? On the collegeboard site they had 3 from the last test.

Are we allowed to say our prompts yet?
