SAT May 2012 Official Discussion

@AlvinWolf, First of all, if 0 wasn’t an integer, the answer can STILL be determined — you would plug in 1 instead of 0. Now considering 2/6 was not an answer choice, we go by the assumption that collegeboard believes that 0 is an integer — which it is btw.

daro, I don’t believe there is one with 5 sides as the correct answer

|–|___
|–||–||–|_
_|–||–|_____

looks like that. and it has 6 sides, but when you put it together two sides will overlap and it will be missing a top. I believe the answer was C

@Ipbug

Sat wouldn’t give a question where u had to round like that unless it said “about the answer” in the directions so either it was mean and it’s I and II or it’s median and all 3… Btw did anyone get 5/3 for one of the graph question with like y=mx+b?

i agree with the answer above, i think it may have been choice D though

Yup, I got 5/3

oh Never mind, lpbugrdmpted is correct.
Yup that was the answer I got. C. Thanks

Yeah I agree with the answer but the letter was D, not C.

Anyone know which math section was experimental?

hahahahaha alvin where are you seeing that 0 isn’t an integer? i just googled it and it seems unanimous…

also did 10/3 vs 3/10 get confirmed?

also i looked it up last night, “can not be determined” is hardly ever the correct answer choice (and practically never when it’s a difficult question)

@presidentssad
do u remember what that question was like?

@Siddy

Yeah that’s why I think they are going to say the answer is 1/6(because the answer could be determined) but it is debated whether or not zero is an integer… I think that question was kind of unfair for that reason

It was 3/10

@hsclass2013

I googles it when I got home and got varying answers

does anyone know which math was experimental? or atleast which ones were real? i had a really easy one in the beginning and hope thats not the experimental…

anyone remember the answer to the improving paragraphs question about revealing damage to fragile books? it was a revising question

@noble ■■■

@bear111

Which question? The one about 1-75?

@bear111

Which question? The one about 1-75?

@Alvin

You’re missing my point. I’m saying even if they did ask for mean, III would yield a mean of 17.2, which would be a highly debated answer for the reason of rounding. Therefore, I can conclude that they asked for the median.

@presidentsaad
the 5/3 graph one

Anyone have a guess for my math score if I got 2 wrong cause I’m almost positive that’s the case
