reading is the best way to build vocabulary and improve your CR scoree

@CCC
Honestly, I’ve been a person who did not memorize any vocabulary before the SAT. Like every. However, after studying for the SAT (and coincidentally also memorizing 2000 words over the summer) I find myself pulling out words such as ubiquitous, ramifications, ramshackle, etc… more often and it’s probably one of the most useful aspects in my studies for getting a 2300+

Voluble and cryptic for the professor/teacher guy.
narcissistic is for the critic

@noble6 the other word with for ebullient was effusive. They both mean enthusiastic/energetic so it wouldn’t work with the implied contrast in behavior.

Yes but cryptic means mysterious and voluble means incessantly talking. They don’t contradict each other

i think on the interview teacher one there was a choice with the first word loquacious, anyone remember the 2nd word?

im pretty sure it was voluble and cryptic. what did you guys put? @noble

Voluble also means fluent, so maybe his cryptic speech isn’t as clear as it normally is?

Cryptic can also mean having a puzzling terseness according to my dictionary app haha

i dont remember the exact options… but voluble and cryptic were the only ones that had any degree of contradiction

Are we allowed to discuss the essay without giving the question? What did you guys think?

i thought mine was pretty easy… 10+

I chose voluble and cryptic as well. I think it was the only one that made sense.

The second word for loquacious was garrulous.

I’m pretty sure I got 10+. Ran out of time/space so my conclusion was one sentence long which I hope won’t hurt my score too much

my essay was suuuuuuper easy, there was a very obvious side to the argument with tons of examples. on my last one i got an 8 with more than half a page blank, hoping for at least a 10 this time! (only 1 empty line)

darn i guess i missed that question then. oh well, my last reading score was good. superscoring is the best thing since sliced bread <333

damn you wrote all 2 pages?

yea i heard that like 90% of the score is based on length, so i just wrote top speed through the whole thing. only 2 examples tho :/

^agreed. I really hope I do well overall so i dont have to retake it because I don’t think essay prompts are that easy very often

Yah same here. I think had two lines to spare though and 5 minutes left on the clock.
