SAT needed for UC Berkeley or Stanford? help pls :[

What SAT score is needed to be considered for UCB or Stanford? What kind of score do I need to get in? D:

currently at a 2040 :[

I have a 4.65 W GPA,decent ECs, 5s on all APs(took 1 on soph yr, 5 on jr yr, and will take 3-4 on sr), should have a pretty good essay, SAT IIs math 800 physics 770 chem 740

Thank you :]

Here are the 25th/75th percentile SAT scores I got off of the College Board site:

…CR>>>>…Math>>>>…Writing>>>
UC Berkeley…580 710 630 760 600 720
Stanford………650 760 680 780 670 760

Overall, it looks like your 2040 is probably 50th-75th percentile at Berkeley, but closer to the 25th percentile at Stanford.

There isn’t really a “cutoff” especially for Stanford because they look at a lot more than just “scores”.

For berkeley, if you want to get out of the art requirement, you’ll need a high SAT score (how high, IDK). Again, there’s no cutoff, but to get to the point where your score won’t be a detriment to your profile, I’d guess 2100-2200 (?).

I agree with Senior. UCs really emphasize grades/testing (possibly more than essays!) and since the rest of your stats are really impressive, a 2100-2200 would probably secure you admission.

the ACT 34 probably covered over the weaker SAT

^Yea, the guy’s SAT means nothing because of the 34. That’s equivalent to a 2260-2300.
