SAT NYU Stern

Does NYU Stern look only at the math and reading section of the SAT? I can’t find it anywhere on the website. But other websites which give the student profiles talk only about the math and reading. Thanks!

It’s not just Stern. Most schools consider the reading and math sections to be your core score, so most people will list just those rather than their total score. Writing does definitely factor in, more at some places than others, but in general people believe that the most weight is on the two rather than the other.

Personally, I believe people should do their best on all three sections simply to provide the most well-rounded application possible.

I’m on an athletic visit to nyu right now and was told that they look at writing not as heavily as cr and math.

okay that is just weird. o.o because like hellodocks said, schools that don’t look at all three sections usually look at cr and math. maybe it’s just for athletes…

She said the same thing I did, “not as heavily” means they look at it less, so Math and Reading are weighted more than Writing is.

oops i misread what you said, justspice. my bad.

What I’m a he >:(

Haha its alright esthetique. Btw, i was also told that the math section is weighted the heaviest of the three sections.

Math is definitely weighed more for Stern… most people that get accepted to Stern get nearly perfect math scores
