SAT policy

I read that they’re accepting only the new SAT. Does anybody know if applicants for 2006 may submit the old SAT with SAT II Writing?

I don’t believe so. as far as I know, they are only accepting the new ones.

you can always call the admission’s office or e mail one of the advisors to find out, you know…

I did, and I am horribly out of luck. Woe is me

sorry to hear…

good luck with the new sat.

They also accept the ACT, my S never took the SAT.

OP:

altho UofC’s website is slightly uncommon (LOL), it is informative if you slog around it a bit. Below is the link discussing the new SAT. Good luck.

Actually they do accept the old SATs and the new ones. So don’t worry about it.

Elsy:

where did you receive your info? Chicago’s website clearly states in bold letters: “Current high school Juniors wishing to apply in 2005 to enter in 2006 must take the new SAT I (or ACT); we will not accept the old format of the SAT I for next year’s applicants.”

Unless you have a signed letter from Dean O’Neill to the contrary, I’d follow their published policy and take the new SAT (or ACT); the writing portion of the ACT is not required.

hey blue

I actually didnt know the Chicago website stated that. But I know that most schools take both. But I think that if you talk to the dean it should be no problem. Because for students graduating in 2006 i remember them telling the juniors that they are allowed to take the old SATs. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
