Is being underrated by people better than to be overrated.

To be underrrated is absolutely better than to be overrated. When one is overrated, people have high expectations of that particular person. You feel obliged and neccessary to live upto those expectations.

One great example will be of Afridi in the Pakistan Cricket team. He started of his career in the team as a batsman, and amazed everyone with his sixers and fours. He even made century couple of times. The bowler of the opposition team would get confused when Afridi entered the field. People of the country started praising him everywhere; posters, adds tv channels commercialised Afridi. Every single person of the country depended on him for the victory of the match, but suddenly no one knew what happened. In every match, he is the first one to get out, rarely even makes one run. If the expectation were not this high for him , then no one would had been this shocked today.

Rabiya Imran, a student at my school was a star. She was seen with deep affection and love from the teachers. In her O level Cambridge she recieved all A+'s and there was never anything lower than a A on her transcripts. She was studying on scholarships and the schools offerred to keep her in their school no matter how lenient they will have to be. She was extremely overrated by everyone but everyone was amazed when on her A level results, she recied 2 C’s. All the colleges who in advance confirmed her admission were shocked. This was totally unexpected, if she wasnt so overrated by everyone, it wouldnt had made a difference even is he recieved a lower grade but since the expectations were high for her, all the teachers were confused.

Brett Butler, a baseball player. He was considered too slow and not talented enought to proceed in the big league. He was extremely underrated by majority of the population. Though, however, he proved everyone wrong and gave them a surprise when he succeeded into the big league. He proceeded to have a brilliant career in Major League.

If Brett Butler was overrated by people, then his success to make it to the big league wouldnt had been considered as a surprise to the majority. Expectations increase and reach a level beyond normal when you are overrated. It is always better to be underrated by people.
