SAT Prep...Advice?

As of now my scores look something like this:
690-740 CR
780-800 Math
620-700 Writing
The only prep books I own are the Barron’s Grammar Workbook for SAT and ACT and The Official SAT Study Guide with DVD administered by college board.
I aim to get a 2250 or above.I specifically need help in writing because i feel as though the “generous” curve on CR gives me a better buffer in case i screw up.

What other books should i buy in order to improve my score?? I hear college board has a BB 2nd edition and a 3rd edition coming out in august. Are those worth picking up or does each book have the same practice tests and questions?

If you go through a good number of official tests, you will catch all the usual rules that are tested on writing. It is, by far, the easiest section to increase your scores. In fact, pretty much all you’d have to do is read all the questions and look up the answers to recognize the very common rules the SAT is testing.

For the essay, the key remains to prepare a well-crafted “canned” essay with a number of plug paragraphs, and serve that weak sauce to the hired robots who score the essays.

As far as books, most prep books cover the writing section adequately.

So is my current SAT Study Guide with DVD book adequate in terms of the number of practice tests or should i look into buying other college board books?

Does anyone know like he was asking if the new books coming out in August will have different tests than the current one?
