SAT (PREP) Am I on track? *Fingers Crossed*

First, my JUNE SAT scores.

Verbal: 670
Math:670
Writing:700
My dream college is Cornell (COE), so it goes without saying, my scores are low. Cornell doesn’t consider writing score, so I am weak in Verbal + Math.

For my OCT SAT, I bought the following books.
->Barron’s 2400. (For Verbal + Math)
->Barron’s Reading Workbook (For Verbal)
->Gruber’s Complete 2011 (For Math Refresher)

I bought them, after researching a lot about them on CC. Please tell me if am I headed the right way, and as to how I can further improve. ( I believe I don’t have enough practice tests. )
Thank you so much. I’d love to chance you, or help you in anyway. Just post your link here.
Thanks!!

I would say your looking good, but I would also recommend Direct Hits (for vocab), and Grammatrix (for writing). Even though Cornell doesn’t consider the writing score, getting a high score on it would be useful for other colleges.

You should also get the blue book put out by college board for the SATs. It used to be called “10 real SATS” but I think they changed the name when they updated it.
I second the recommendation for “Direct Hits” by Larry Kreiger for vocab.

BB is the best.

So the 10 Real Tests, should be good enough for practice… Do they have solutions? With explanations, cause that’s key for me.
Direct Hits? Hmm, Gruber’s has 3400 word-list, won’t the be enough? Or does Direct Hits have something more?
Grammatrix, does it come individually for the writing section?

No explanations, but you can find them online if necessary.
Gruber’s is awful for vocabulary. I looked through it once, and I found numerous false definitions. If you’re going all out, get Barron’s mini-dictionary.

Right, so Gruber’s is out. The thing is I already have too many books, and I am not sure if I really need Direct Hits.
I have TPR, Barron’s SAT guide (3500 Word list), Barron’s 2400, Barron’s Reading Workbook.
I mean these have lots of words, I’m sure direct hits doesn’t have more than these. So what’s really special in Direct Hits? Strategies, memory aid?

^Please stop the shameless advertising. I know your goal is to get people to buy your product, but it’s obviously shady, and I can’t imagine it being worth $50.

To the OP, good luck in your endeavor, it seems like you’re self-motivated, and with studying, you can bring your SAT up. Just remember, don’t neglect other parts of your application.

You do not need any of the Barron’s books.
For Writing I recommended silverturtles writing section in his guide –>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/955109-silverturtles-guide-sat-admissions-success.html</a>
For Math Gruber’s is great
For CR I recommend Direct Hits and the BB.
Use the BB for practice questions and nothing else.

Please disregard the first part of post #8. It was directed at a now-deleted comment.
