SAT prep course?

Hello guys, this is my first post on CC and I would really appreciate any reply.

I’m currently a junior taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Like many others, I received my first SAT results from the October SAT yesterday. My scores were below my expectations:

CR - 610
Maths - 710
Writing - 620 (MC 57/Essay 11)

I have been self studying since summer, and usually scored within the range of 2100-2300 for my practice tests. During the weeks I would take a day and dedicate it just to taking the test, like the real day. So when my score came out I was quite disappointed. I know that my math was a slip, but I really do need help on my CR and writing. On a good day I could be scoring north of 750, on others… well, like the real day.

I’m planning on taking the December SAT again, in an attempt to redeem myself. Do you people reckon I should give in and take a SAT prep course? Plus, how can I improve my CR and Writing scores?
