I am not looking at an app, so I can only guess: Enter the test date and leave the score blank.
Be sure for your senior year AP tests that you enter the date: May, 2010, not 2009, and again, leave the score blank. Using the wrong year seems to occasionally have been a problem. Let us know if you figure it out.

i tried as alamemom suggested but whenever i do that, it tells me taht i need to fill in the blanks that tell me to enter the scores. obviously, i dont know my score for my future SAT and AP tests… what should i do???

jaykakxl, is the “additional comments section” the area below the spaces where it asks us to tell about an activity taht is important to us and describe our academic interests etc?

do you have to put that you’ll be taking those AP tests in the “additional info” box though? cuz doesn’t it seem obvious if they see what ap classes you’re taking in your senior schedule?

jaykakxl: are you refering to the thread i wrote a couple of minutes ago below this post? otherwise, im not so sure to be honest and thats why i asked other people. apparently, there are ppl on CC who had to fax their SAT scores to USC (like print out a page on collegeboard that has our names and score) because they were unsure whehter their sat scores would arrive on time. im applying online… so i was wondering whether i had to fax my scores in as well (i have not sent in my scores yet).

:S im so sorry… im a senior now and im applying here as well so i really dont know how to respond to your questions. but if i were you, since i dont know how to inform them that i will be taking Dec and Jan SATs (in your case, Dec SATs) other than write on the additional comments section as you told me… i would fill that space out telling i am taking more sats, send all the SATs you’ve taken till now and then send the Dec SAT when that is ready. i wouldnt send the scores when the Dec scores are ready… i think that will be too late… just send in the scores you have till now first. and then when the dec scores are ready, send those in. i hope this makes sense with all the repetition

jaykakxl, FAX the scores you currently have by December 1st, and FAX your December scores as soon as you can access them online. Honestly, the December scores may be too late for scholarship consideration, but they will be fine for regular admission deadlines.

I take it that faxing will be the non-official scores (ones you print from the website), but what about the official scores? Do I also order them before Dec 1st?

If you designate USC as a score recipient for your Dec 5th before you test (and don’t use “score choice”), you don’t have to send official scores now. As long as you have FAXed Form 5 and your current unofficial scores before the deadline. If you plan to wait and see your scores before sending then YES, you would need to send an official score report now.

If you designate USC now, those scores go out to the universities right away - as soon as you see them online (if not a tiny bit before). If you wait to see them, you add a week or more to the amount of time it takes for them to be sent to USC. Your scores would likely not arrive until January, and I am certain that would be too late for scholarship consideration. They would still be fine for regular admissions deadlines.

Remember, USC superscores the SAT and only uses your highest scores. They also prefer you do not use score choice, so there really is no reason to wait to see the scores. Just send 'em and forget about it until Spring.

Has anyone called USC and asked them how to indicate that you are taking the Dec SAT? I sent them an email, but they haven’t responded. I will call them soon.

college kid92, the December test date is probably too late for scholarship consideration, even if you indicate on your application that you are taking it. The scholarship deadline is December 1st, and all required materials are due that date. I wil post this once again:

Send the scores you have now using Form 5. Designate USC as the score recipient for your December scores before you take the test - there is a small possibility that they will be still be considering scholarship applications when those scores arrive. If you wait to see the scores before sending them, they will be fine for regular admission, but too late for scholarships. You could put a note in the space for extra information that you are taking the Dec test if you want. Good luck!
