SAT question of the day for Nov 17

Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño, who spent much of his life in Mexico and Spain, first achieved international recognition with his novel The Savage Detectives, a story of writers in early 1970s Mexico City who embark on a road trip into the Sonora Desert in search of a vanished poet. No error.

Between “a story of writers” and “No error” i was stuck. I thought it should be a story about writers. Can someone give me an explanation for the idiom “story of” and an example please? I googled it but not luck

Use “story of” when you mean the “tale of” or “history of”

As in: the story of John and Suzie

Use " story about" when you mean “that deals with the issue of”

As in: this is a story about bravery
