How accurate is the QOTD in self-judging your preparedness? I’m taking the SAT in March, and I’ll probably get the classic Prep Book, etc. I answer almost all of the daily questions correctly, and I was wondering whether that will mean anything once I’m taking the test. Is the test itself harder, easier, pretty much the same? There’s no daily essay prompt (that I’ve found) and I think I’ll have trouble with that, but I read that the essay only counts for a small chunk of the Writing section.

Basically, how realistic are the QotD’s? Any experience with this?

QOTD are in no way a predictor of your performance. They are a daily challenge to keep your mind thinking about the SAT, nothing more. Moreover, the questions are simple, and very rarely challenging.

If you want an accurate indicator of your performance, take one of the first three administered exams in the BB.

Haha, it’s okay. Anyway, take the first exam in there, or save it for when you’re done with preparation. These three exams are -GOLD-. They will pin-point your capability spot-on.

What makes you think they are not realistic? They are made by the same people. However, you can’t really use them to predict your performance, the testing conditions and context are totally different. Plus, how would you know how many right/wrong answers results in a certain score?
