SAT reevaluation

I took the SAT in january and got a 2030. I took it again in may and was shocked when i saw i got 1860. Is this any point getting the score reevaluated? Could collegeboard have made any error?
Also for someone who is good in math and science, is it better to take the act? ive heard of people who have got 2000 in sat but 34, 35 in act which is comparitively much better.

There is a personal preference between ACT and SAT. Someone would do better in one or the other while most probably would get comparable scores in both. You should give it a try to find out yourself. From the section score, do you notice which one you got a big drop? Sometimes when someone skip a question, he/she shift all the answers afterward and that caused a big drop in score. There was also at least one case that there was a misalignment on the answer sheet. The real question is, what is your practice scores? Did you get a consistent range of practice score and do your SAT scores lie within the range?

In my practise tests i always got above 2000. A few times above 2100 as well. My critical reading was always 600-650. In the actual test however, i got 540…

So it seems the 2030 is a fair score for you. I still don’t know if your lower score is mainly due to one section or not. If it is, it may be an indication of an error somewhere. If it is a reduction across the board, I don’t think an appeal would change anything.
