Hey guys,
If I got a 23 out of 24 on the essay, should I retake it to try and get a perfect score?
Also, does questbridge prep scholar program accept the sat if I retake it in January?
Also is a 650 out of 800 for the reading and writing section good? I was really expecting higher and I’m pretty sure I can do much better
And lastly, is the old sat new sat conversion accurate? The ones published on all the websites? Because it seems like it’s easier to get a higher score on the new sat, so the grades are inflated. I want to know if this was true, thanks!
Your essay score is very good.
@conorrichard7 should I retake the essay to try to get a perfect score?
No. That would be a colossal waste of time for literally zero potential gain.
It’s fairly good, but it really depends on your target schools. If I were aiming for top-30 schools or good state flagships, I’d re-take and try to get in the 700+ range.
@marvin100 yes, ill definitely work on improving my r&w section.
also, I have an SAT school day coming up, and I know you suggested for me to not take the essay section again, but if the school is offering the essay section isn’t it better for me to take it?
I heard that if I choose not to take the essay section I’ll have to take another mock section of the SAT (not sure if this is true or not). But if it’s being offered to me, I don’t see any reason to reject it. What do you think?
No real reason to reject it, no real reason to take it. Just know that there’s literally zero meaningful difference between a 23 and a 24.
@marvin100 cool, thank you!
