SAT results

My son just received June results and is woefully disappointed in scores. He has taken the test in March, May and June-I know I know-probably not the smartest move-and best scores are 620 math, 550 critical reading and 530 writing. He was hoping for 1800. He did Huntington tutoring last fall and a private tutor between march and may. Smart enough kid, but not the most driven and tends to procrastinate. Is it worth him taking the test again in Oct with the understanding that there must be lots of prep before hand? is it frowned upon to take more than 3 times?

My daughter took it in March (cr-620- m-740- w-730 ) for that exam she had a private tutor from Princeton Review. The tutor was good but she decided to do her own prep. She used the CB Blue book and online study guide. She did lots of practice tests and worked hard. Took the exam in June and went up 100 pts (cr-690,m-760- w-740). It is all about hard work. If your son does not have the drive to work during the summer than do not force him to take it again. Good luck
