SAT sbubject tests?

Well i just got my US history test back and i got a 650. I plan on applying to Rice (ED) , claremont mckenna, davidson, occidental, uc san diego, and cal poly slo. Most of these schools dont require subject tests so im more worried about Rice. Do i need to retake in June? I plan on getting around a 700 in the math section. If it helps, i have a 3.75 UW and a 4.25 W, a 2120 SAT, and pretty good ECs. Thanks for any help.

I don’t think retaking it will change the final call on your admission. In the end low test scores (though the 650 isn’t low) are not usually frowned upon as much as these boards suggest.

I’ll have to disagree on two things here. 1) 650 isn’t “low” but it is low compared to his Rice-competitors. 2) Low test scores are usually taken into consideration by top-tiered schools, such as Rice.

True, though it doesn’t make things impossible IMO. OPs SAT is 40 points higher than mine and I didn’t have a single SAT II over 680 and am going to Yale. My only point was that many other factors are considered

What was your GPA? Also, he probably has a lot to match you in, in all the other fields asides from scores/stats.

thanks for the help. ill probably end up retaking it. anyone else?
