Hey guys, I’m from Sri Lanka and I’ve been looking to join a college like Harvard or Princeton.
I am a national swimmer here in Sri Lanka and I’m looking to join Harvards swimming and diving team by next year (2018). Therefore, could I please have a rough idea of a SAT score I should achieve?
Also, since the recruiting process starts in June, should I talk to one of the coaches by then, or could I start now ?
Start now. If your times are in the ball park, the coaches will let you know what SAT/ACT scores are in the range. They will have far better range than anyone here.
^^ What he said. They are probably already pretty far along in the process. I would contact the coaches ASAP. If your times are what they are looking for, they will tell you what they need academically.
If you’re referring to the Fall of 2018, then the recruiting process has already started. You will need to contact the coaches now. By now, especially Harvard, most likely have already unofficially committed their recruitment slots to top recruits. If that is the case, then perhaps the coach might be able to give you some degree of admission support. If you apply as a recruit, the academic index will be used to determine your candidacy as a recruit. Usually as a rule of thumb, 700’s minimum across the board on all SAT’s including SATII’s
