SAT Score Drop?!

Hi. I took the SAT twice and have some conflicted opinions.

1st. 730CR 730M 800W 2260
2nd. 670CR 800M 800W 2270

If the admissions process will choose the best scores from each section, then it will be a 2330. However, if not, then I feel like the two individual scores won’t be up to par for Columbia, Brown, or Princeton. Should I retake the SAT or just go with these scores?

Thanks!

The SAT is just one factor in getting into an ivy. I think you should just go with these scores as there is nothing wrong with them. Yes a higher score would be better but these scores are nothing to be stressed about.

Once you reach a certain threshold with SAT scores, a few points aren’t going to matter much. Yes, you could retake it at potentially go up fifty points or so, but those fifty points aren’t going to make the Ivy admissions people love you that much more (especially if your ECs or grades are not great). Once you’ve got solid scores, which you do (seriously, like 98% of people who take the SAT don’t score that high), just accept them, be happy, and focus on the rest of your life.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I definitely am not making the SAT the focal point of my application… I was just worried whether most schools would just use the highest section score in evaluating my application. Thanks for your input!
