I am Asian Male, going for Cornell Architecture.
I was wondering around what range of SAT scores would be considered average for me. Since it’s Architecture, it would probably be lower, but since I am Asian Male, it would be higher. So would mid 2100s be a good assumption?

Mid 2200s-2300s. If you want to make yourself competitive. They have a large applicant pool and small acceptance rate.

Well Cornell is an Ivy League school, regardless of whether you’re going into Architecture, so I would assume you need a pretty high SAT score.

Don’t forget that Cornell mainly looks at your CR and Math scores, not so much your writing score.

I think especially for the architecture school, they have very strong applicants, and surely being an Asian Male works to your disadvantage.

oh, does anyone know what would be a good SAT score for Cornell Arts and Science?

Anywhere in the 2000s is fine. You can be a viable applicant, but again, the higher the score, the better.

YES! Thanks superexcited. Now I need to do is pray that I get 2000+ until Thursday. Oh, btw, I hope being an Asian male doesn’t put me at a disadvantage too.

My cousin got in with a 2040 and even got
a seven k a yr scholarship.
Bit she went to Connecticut

Asian male, especially Chinese male, is the most disadvantaged, unfortunately. And many people get in with low 2000s because of great ECs, reccs, etc. However, it doesn’t hurt to have a great SAT score to go along with it. The better your quantitative scores, the better your chances.

alright thx. (Good thing, I’m Vietnamese)

My brother applied to Cornell Engineering, a very competitive school, and got in ( Class of '07). Here are his stats
GPA: 4.4+ ish

Rank: Top 10 /350ish

SAT score: 1450/1600 (730 CR 720 Math)

SAT II score: Took several scoring 700+ on the majority of them. I know he scored a 780 on Math 2, 740ish in Chinese, 700 in Chem, 680 in French, and 700+ in US history.

EC: Sorry I don’t remember we have an eight year age difference so I was in fourth grade when he was applying.

I hope this helped!

architecture is all about your portfolio

^Even with a great portfolio, you can’t get in if you don’t have the scores to go along with it. Cornell won’t take you if you have a 2.5 gpa and a 1300 SAT (including writing).

Cornell is the "easiest " Ivy to get into. So I would say about 2100-2150.

^The school in general is easy to get into. But not specific colleges, like the architecture one.

^ 2200 is probably ideal then.

Sigh I got a 2160

Okay mine score is
CR: 630=>580
W:610=>690
M:660=>800

Am I still eligible for Cornell Arts and Science? (I’m going to retake to improve CR and W).

I think you need to raise your CR.
How about me, I’m going to apply to Cornell CAS as well.
CR: 710
M: 770
W: 750
2230==>2240 superscored (720 cr)

I think you can get in with those scores. But for me, I hate CR so much.
