SAT Score for IVYs

Please see comparison chart for various IVYs. I know SAT score is not the only thing admission committee makes their decision based on it is still one of the main criterion that colleges use in their selective process. Does this mean few people with SAT score near 2050-2100 has a shot at IVY league? How about the Scholarship? Do you get any scholarship when admitted in bottom 25%?

[Ivy League SAT Scores - Compare SAT Scores for Ivy League Schools](Ivy League SAT Score Comparison for Admission)

Most, if not all, Ivys don’t offer merit based scholarship. They have some of the brightest applicants so decided which ones deserve the scholarships would be very hard. Instead, they meet full need of their accepted applicants.

I would say your chances are rather slim if your score is below 2100 and you don’t have a hook, but don’t count yourself out of the game entirely. Good essays, GPA, recommendations, and ECs can make up for a low (in terms of the SAT score of average accepted applicants) SAT.

The scores you’re looking at are deceptive. You need to understand that the bottom 25 percent and more are made up of hooked candidates: recruited athletes, legacies, development, staff kids and URMs. It’s highly unlikely for someone not in these groups to be admitted with scores in the bottom 25%.

At all of the ivies aid is need based and everyone admitted will get aid if the college determines they have need.

a

Since when did 800 become 75th? Holy Jesus, this world is getting scary…

LOL. My sentiments exactly.

Ivies don’t give academic scholarships. They only give need-based aid.

to have a better chance of acceptance - especially if you have lowish ivy scores - is to have some hook (like being a male URM, needed athlete, unusual talent, elite awards, famous, regional diversity, very poor, etc).

If you’re a “run of the mill” student with lowish ivy scores, your chances for admittance are very, very low.

Remember that the Ivies and other super-selective schools also require the SAT subject tests (some accept ACT instead.) Usually there is some freedom to select the tests you take, but this does mean more tests that you’ll need to score sky-high on. Ugh! >< Good luck to you!
