SAT SCore Question

Does HMC use superscores on the SAT and/or use the highest scores for SAT-II tests? Just curious (in the context of the Mudd Scholarship) if one must make the 750M 700CR and 700W in one sitting. DS is taking the SAT for the first time in March and it would sure be nice if he could “take one and be done!”

I don’t believe it has to be in one sitting. I got the scholarship and I only qualified for 2 of them in one sitting, and the other in another sitting.

I can’t imagine why superscores WOULD be as highly valued as single test scores. It almost seems like cheating to me since you can allocate your energy to different portions at different sittings… while people like myself just take it once and be done with it.

But admist all of the SAT prep classes that I consider cheating and an unfair advantage, I guess there are worse things in the world…

feh looking back i kind of wish i had trained myself for the SATs rather than taking the “righteous” path that i believed in. I could have gotten that merit scholarship and i probably would have been able to go in as a frosh. now im stuck throwing dice on transfers.

but yes if i remember correctly mudd allows multiple sittings, but dont take too many now as you could come off as ■■■■■■■■.

My story:

Week before first SAT
Dad falls ill with pneumonia, given 5% chance to live and goes through major surgeries every other day for 3 months
Score : 800M, 610V, 670W. couldnt stay awaked in V or M due to lack of sleep

Day before 2nd SAT
First love, kiss, and girlfriend gives ex a bj and tells me about it
Score: 780M, 610V, 640W. mild panic attacks throughout

Four Days before 3rd SAT
Same first love (dont ask why i gave her a 2nd chance) cheats on me and tells me she is pregnant
Score: 740M, 580V, 640W dont even ask what happened, it shall stay a secret between me and the other testers.

I cant imagine the people reviewing the application that saw my scores decline into oblivion without knowing why although my hs counselor said it best: It looks like you are going stupid. Hence i was rejected by every priv college/univ I applied to except HMC (first choice tho so yay), which was probably the only one to look beyond those at my GPA and research.

I feel your pain. My dad had pneumonia and meningitis three years in a row. My first love, kiss, boyfriend, always tells me about what him and his girlfriends do. I gave him a 2nd chance (more like a 4th, 5th and 6th chance) and he always cheated. Now he is in juvey for his 5th drug dealing offense. BTW, that all happened before he turned 14. Blah.
