SAT Score question

Is a SAT Score of 2230 competitive for top schools including Ivies?
720 CR
780 Math
730 Writing

Should I consider taking it again? I’ve only taken it once.

I’m also taking the ACT in about a week. I took the ACT once before and got a 32 where my my lowest score was in math where I got like a 32 b/c i couldn’t use my TI-89 and usually math is my strongest area. I hope to get like a 35 now that I am more prepared.

Will I be good if I submit my 2230 but supplement it with ACT w/ writing with a good score?

thanks

I’m not too familiar with the ACT but for the SATs…

Congrats on getting such a good score first time! The general consensus is that 2200+ makes you good enough to be considered for any college. But if you think you can improve significantly the second time, even possibly breaking 2300, then it may give you a little extra security if you retake it. I wouldn’t worry about your writing score since it is not considered as heavily, but doing some [more?] cr practice may help you raise that to at least a 750, making your combined math/verbal better.

And the only reason I’m advising a retake is because you mentioned the Ivies, where it would be more beneficial to be in the 2300+ range. Otherwise, you still have an amazing score. Best of luck.
