670 across the 3 sections? Or 670 in a particular section?
670 (CR+M) @NotVerySmart
Ok. That’s not as bad as a 3-section 670, which would be among the bottom 1% nationwide.
Even with that as a 2-section score, it’s worth considering a community college, especially if you don’t tend to get good grades in school. That score indicates that you may struggle going straight from high school to university.
If your grades are generally high, and this is your first SAT, the score could be due to a very bad test day coupled with some first-test speed bumps, in which case it’s time for some serious prep. Order the College Board’s blue book, read it, and do every practice test in the book. You’ve got plenty of room to improve, and if you can bring your scores up to the 800-900 range (or even 1000, though that would take a lot of work), that may be your salvation.
College i plan to study sociology, I am good in reading and writing… not big on math…
My PSAT i got a 55 on the reading, this time idk what happened. Just was not prepared
Also, when i took my SAT i did not have a calculator for my math section… Im considering getting a tutor or like just study for next SAT… plan on getting accepted into LAMAR UNIV.
If you want to go to Lamar University, you’ll likely need a score of 1000 or more. I reiterate my point about SAT prep, and you should definitely bring a calculator the next time you take the test.
