Has anyone ever had their scores “held” before? The only time I have heard of this is when there was a suspected problem with the writing portion of the SAT. The group ended up having to retake the entire test. Of course when I called College Board they said the responsilbe department would have to call me in up to two weeks!!! Help!!!

Hold means there is an issue with the test which could be whether it was properly graded (which could be just your test or many from the same test location), possible cheating (which could involve anyone who was in same room), or your score represents an inordinate change from a prior SAT you took (like a 300 point or higher increase) in which case they hold so they can check to assure there is no indication of cheating. You won’t know what it is until they tell you and sometimes they just eventually release your score without ever telling you what it was.
