SAT Scores/GPA for competitive schools

Current junior – I have a 2230 on my SAT and a 3.8 uw GPA. My GPA has an upward trend with the exception of two 89s my junior year (was a one-point-off kind of thing). I have very interesting extra-curriculars that I think will be what really sets me apart. I am applying to Northwestern, Brown, Tufts, Barnard, Wesleyan, Vassar, and University of Texas. What are my chances at these schools (primarily NU/Brown/Tufts)? Should I take the SAT/ACT again? Thanks. Let me know if I can answer any more questions.

Your SAT score is fine. With a 2230, you’re in the competitive range and it will be your extracurriculars that determine if your application is interesting.

This college list needs balance; these colleges (with the possible exception of U Texas, if you are in-state) are all reaches for you because of their low acceptance rates. You really need some target colleges in the Occidental / Connecticut College tier, and you should have one or two “likelies.”

Would you recommend taking the ACT to see if I can improve my application?

And thank you both for your advice.
