SAT scores in context

Of course, it seems appealing if one has a list of 790s for SAT II scores. But, will an admissions committee consider the average grades of a particular exam, and then compare the average score with that of the students? For example, the average for Bio-M is 630, where Bio-E hovers somewhere in the 500’s. Is a 700 in Bio-E worth more than a 700 in Bio-M?? And, if not, why?

I don’t know. That’s a great question, though. I mean, admissions officers have so many applications and so little time, I’d assume they wouldn’t really have that much time to think about it. I’m not sure, though.

I believe they assume that CB set the curves as they are for a reason and will compare scores from any two tests.

No, why would the admissions people care or bother about the different average numbers? They’re comparing you to other students applying to the school and to their own set standards, not to the national average.
