SAT scores on my transcript, do I HAVE to send now?

Hey guys, I guess my ACT and SAT scores show up on my transcript. I did well on the ACT but not as well on the SAT and I don't want to/plan on sending my SAT scores to any schools other than the ones I sent my 4 free scores to. But now that it shows up on my transcript, does that mean that I have to?

Thanks

I believe SAT and ACT scores sent to colleges are not official unless colleges receive score reports directly from CB and ACT Testing.

This is a tough question. A handful of schools "require" you to report ALL Tests during ALL dates. Stanford is one of these. I personally went to my school's office and asked that my ACT scores not be put on my transcript, so that I could forget about them and colleges would never know. (I am the opposite of you; high SAT, low ACT). I'm applying and not sending ACT scores to any schools I am seriously considering. If you don't make a special request at your school's office, your scores are probably on your transcript, allowing universities to KNOW you have taken ACT/SAT. Therefore, if they "require" you send all scores from all dates, you would need to send an official report, or they will likely consider your application incomplete or simply decline you for admission.

..ugh what a messy situation! The worst part is all of my transcripts have already been sent out :/ well I guess I'll just have to hope for the best

It's easy to check the college admissions website to see what their testing requirements are.

Several schools are like Stanford - they want ALL scores of ALL tests taken.

Others are EITHER the SAT or the ACT with writing.

Some schools also require the SAT Subject tests.

A simple way to check - google the name of the school + testing requirements.

Scores on transcripts are never official and you will have to send in scores. If they need one or the other but not both, you are not required to send in all scores, even if on the transcripts.

However, if it says all scores for SAT...then send in all scores for SAT. No score choice. Just send them all.

Very good answer, thank you I appreciate the help :D
