SAT Scores- Retake or No?

I just finished my first semester at a a top 20 LAC and am thinking about transferring to a slightly bigger school for Sophomore year. My current school does not offer the major that I want and am looking to transfer to a school that does. Although I have not yet received my first semester grades I think they will be somewhere within the 3.8-4.0 range (unless I completely bombed my finals haha). I had a 4.0 uw in high school (my school didn’t weight so I’m not sure what that would translate to). I’m also very involved at my current school (sit on the board of multiple clubs, work-study, volunteering, multiple internships, etc), so ECs should not stand in my way. However, I got a 2070 on the SATs, which aren’t awfully low but certainly wouldn’t help my application. Should I retake the SATS (or maybe try the ACT) in hopes of raising my score?

Also, my first choice right now is Tufts, which I was rejected from ED last year, if that gives you any more insight.

Bumping this because I got my grades and I had a 4.0 for first semester. Would this change anything?

Some schools don’t look at SATs that were taken in college and also some schools dont require standardize test scores for transfers and 2070 is more than fine score I would say not to retake it save that money for application fees

kind of in the same boat as you. Most schools look at standardized test scores, especially if you have only completed 1 semester of college. Id say if tufts is your number one choice, you should strongly consider retaking the SATs

I wouldn’t bother. You are at a top 20 LAC. You’ve gotten a 4.0 You’ve already shown you can do the work.
