SAT scores to get into top schools

My sister thinks getting a 1400 can get her into schools like Tufts, Cornell, Washington univeristy in st louis, etc.

But Im pretty sure shes wrong.
My top schools are UVA, Washington University in st louis, UF,
These are my too schools only and Im also applying to other colleges as well thay are not as compeitive.

What GPA do I need to get be competitve

That information is available on the Common Data Sets of each school. I think she will find that a 1400 would be in the lower half of accepted students for each of those schools. Remember those schools have very low acceptance rates so ones chances of acceptance are low even for those with acceptable scores and GPA’s. I don’t know much about UF but be sure you have one school that you want to attend that you are assured acceptance to and can afford. Good luck.

Your sister, like all applicants, should spend more time picking out her safety and match schools where she would be delighted to attend…go ahead and apply for those other schools too.

Im shooting for 1500

Is this question about you or your sister?

If it is about your sister she should open a CC account and ask herself.
But in another post you talk about wanting to raise your SAT 400 points to get to 1400 so I wonder if this is about your situation.

Either way there are many ways to find the range of SAT scores for a particular college, often it is on the admission website, it is in the common data set which you can google, you can look at guide books, etc. It is important that you learn to do your own basic research.
