What is a solid SAT score to have if you are applying for UCLA’s med school? I’m not a minority so I can’t get in by that. Thanks!

For Med School you need the MCAT not the SAT. SAT would be required if you are applying for undergraduate at UCLA and plan on doing the Pre-med courses. You would then take the MCAT and apply to Med. School. See link for Freshman profile: http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_fr/Frosh_Prof14.htm

Thanks, I am applying for undergrad at UCLA for pre-med courses. Would a 2200+ be a solid score for undergrad?

Yes, an SAT of 2200 would be competitive and you would need at UC GPA of 4.0+ also.
See link, if you do not know how to calculate your UC GPA: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

Stupid question? Is the gpa calculator for UC the same as the one you sent for Cal State? Sorry I don’t know the difference but believed them to be different entities (like U Penn and Penn State for example).
Thanks

The UC GPA calculator and the CSU calculator are one in the same. The UC’s and the CSU’s (except for Cal Poly SLO) use Sophomore/Junior grades plus 8 extra points for approved AP/Honors classes. Freshman grades are used by Cal Poly SLO along with a bonus point system (I guess they like to be different). I have another GPA calculator link which does the same calculations: <a href=“GPA Calculator for the University of California – RogerHub”>http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/.
