How big of a factor are the subject tests? I did well on one and completely bombed the other one.

My eldest daughter, a straight-A student, got a 5 on her AP Calc exam, and a 2 on her AP Government exam. Given that my daughter received an “A” in the class, I interpreted her “2” on the AP Government exam as a reflection of the teacher’s curriculum. I believe the lesson plan didn’t teach what would be on the test.

I’m not sure, but I think SAT II scores could reflect the same. Not necessarily the student’s ability, but what s/he was taught.

FYI, my youngest daughter learned from my eldest daughter’s experience. She bought the AP study guides prior to her AP History test and essentially taught herself what she would need to know.
