hmmmm. if I’m retesting, do you guys think it would be a good idea to read over past threads on bio tests, or do they barely ever give the same test again?

They almost never give you the same test. I miraculously (or not so much, depending on how you look at it) got the same one. At least we know the curve ahead of time. :)

What grade are you all in? My school requires all freshman to take the Biology subject test because we take Biology in ninth grade. Is this early or average?

im in 12th grade. i took honors bio tenth grade, but we didnt learn anything. we learned the cell parts and mitosis the first semester and the human body the second semester, and that was it. then in eleventh grade i had ap bio, but it was from the same teacher. so again i didnt learn a lot from him. but i read campbells and cliffs. i was getting 5s on all my practice tests, but then i got a 4 on the real test :(. i honestly have no idea how i did yesterday.

I’m a senior as well. I took Biology freshman year and AP Biology as a junior. My AP Biology teacher has a 24% average passing rate on AP exams in general. I didn’t learn that much in her class cause she seriously never lectured or gave us notes, and it was either free time, a movie, or a random lab every day.

Nov20 scores? I thought someone said they came out Dec1.

no, its november 20. unless maybe you are international or something.

“Check back on Dec 1 for Nov 3 SAT scores.”

thats what the “my planner” or whatever section of collegeboard says, but the test date v. scores online table still says the 20th.

It’s an error on CB.
Dec. 1st is the next test administration date.

A question to those who did well - what books did you guys use?

I used Barron’s which didn’t seem to cover all of it - usually one would assume that Barrons would have more than enough

I don’t know how I did but I used 2 book-- the 13th Version of Barron’s Biology and the most recent 2007 one. I only went through all of the 2007 book but felt that it didn’t cover A LOT of topics and detail the 13th version had. But it was way too late to go through that book as well.

Well, I can tell you what I used LAST time I took this exact same exam =]

I used Princeton Review and Barron’s together. It was pretty thorough, and I probably should not have canceled that time. I think I did good this time though… although I did not study >10 minutes xD

Wat was the answr to that weird question regarding plasmid in bacteria and centromere? It was sumthin lyk, wat is it abt the centromere that helps in passing on the plasmid to the daughter cell or sumthin?

i asked him. he said carbon dating was the best answer, because even though you could use it to help you, it would give you the least amount of information.

Do you remember the answer choices, Antarika123, or at least what you put?

I think I remember that one. I think it asked why bacteria don’t use mitosis or a similar method to eukaryotes when they divide. The answer was because the plasmids are circular, without a centromere. sound familiar to anyone?

i thought that question asked about a yeast cell, which they said was eukaryotic? I don’t really remember what I put or what the answer choices were.

O.o I don’t remember that question. at all. Hahaha… wow.

I don’t quite remember that question either.

The 20th feels pretty soon. Uh-ohhhh… Hopefully good curve.

Wow, scores come out in less than three weeks. Two weeks now.
