SAT Subject Test Course Placement

<p>What is meant when Yale says “Yale will accept the ACT Plus Writing alone. Bear in mind, however, that some Yale departments use the SAT I and/or SAT II Subject Tests for course placement.”</p>

<p>Does this mean that I could potentially get into Yale but not be able to take some classes because I didn’t take the Subject Tests? Or is it more like a “if you got above 700 on Math II you can skip Introduction to Calculus” type of thing? I wish to double major in Cinema/Film Studies (I cannot remember which word they use) and some time of science/math area, probably Engineering or Physics. Thanks for the help.</p>

<p>It’s the latter. If you want to skip a class with a subject test score but only sent in ACT scores with your application, I think you can always take the subject test after you’re already accepted.</p>
