SAT Subject test Question + EC question

I got 2 questions that maybe you guys can help me with…

I have an 800 in Chem and a projected 780-800 in Math 2, and a 750 in USH. Since most ivies require sending 2 in, should i just send my top two and disregard USH?

Also, I was wondering how my EC’s were - I don’t do very many, but I’m VERY dedicated to the ones that I do do. I designed two websites (one for a local nonprofit, and another for our speech and debate team). I’m also a vice president for our debate team, and I’m ranked top 20 in my state for debate. I’m a rising senior - will this be enough?

yeah i’d send in the top two

im not an expert, but i’ve been on this site a while and i have an idea of whats good and bad. honestly, your ec’s arent good. have you done anything else? like anything will help you at this point. you sound like an amazing candidate but a lot of amazing people are applying with better ec’s you know? but don’t give up bc you might be surprised. harvard is good at surprising people lol

what are your grades like? sat/act? any hooks?

as for EC’s, my thought is that most people do a crapload of extracurriculars and don’t stick to them (they do a ton of stuff for 1 year, or something like that). generally I think i’m a standout in debate and it really is what I spend all my time on - isn’t that what colleges like, more-so than listing a ton of bs things? I spent my summers at debate camp usually, and am doing an internship at a small company this summer. I have more than 200+ hours if that helps?

i’m not sure how to calc my gpa, but i’ve taken 5 ap courses and got 1 b+ in an ap course, and that’s it
5 is probably top of my class in terms of how many ap classes we can take

AP scores:
Chinese/Calc AB/Chem/AP Music Theory/Ap English Lang: 5
APUSH: 4

SAT is 2200, but I’m retaking and hoping for 2250 at the very least, 2300 if I’m lucky. 217 on PSAT.

Edit:
Oh I also did Key club as a freshman (and another club that I don’t even remember the name b/c it was so bs) What’s a hook?

you’re totally right. they dont like kids that do a crapload of activities that they know the kids arent even interested in. so you have a passion.

whats your rank?

I personally think you qualify for harvard. So go ahead an apply and make a kick ass essay

examples of hooks:
-alumni connections
-athletics
-ethnicity (if you’re a minority it helps)
-talent in the arts
-geography

a hook is an advantage that makes you attractive to a particular college. hooks can help a lot in the admission process depending on what it is and how many you have.

heres a website that explains it: [How Hooks Influence Your College Acceptance](http://www.petersons.com/college-search/hooks-influence-college-acceptance.aspx)

i had to google it lol

i have a brother that went to harvard and is super successful (worked at a ton of big-name companies). does that count as a hook?

oh dude thats great! haha. did you ask him for advice on your concern? I mean im sure he’d be a better person to ask since he went there :P

I did, but I was hoping a harvard alumni or current student would be responding to my question… hahaha no offense :P

pahaha no. none taken. you want the best advice from people that are actually there. but you should probably ask the harvard student in the thread “Current Harvard student taking questions” but im sure on will come across this thread too. good luck! you sound like an awesome applicant.
