<p>I need 800s on all these tests to boost my chances of getting into UCSB (I also would love to get a 2100+ on the SAT advice on that too) , any idea on which books to get and study methods. I am willing to put 4 hours per week day, and 2 hours per weekend. My SAT score the last time i took it was a 1270 (very low) and i was hoping to raise it to a 2100+ ( I’ll be happy with a 2000+).</p>
<p>Unless you have an extremely low GPA, 800’s for UCSB is overachieving. While it is a great school, aim for 750+ on two subject tests and you should be fine (I think chem is easier than bio so I’d do chem+US History).</p>
<p>US History: I think AP books cover the material much better and although they may not be too specific with some details, the curve is forgiving enough to take it with just AP review and get an 800 (assuming you have taken a US history course at some point in high school). If you really want an 800, thoroughly read AMSCO (about 700-800 pages) which will more than prepare you for the SATII in US History (and the AP Test next may if your interested in doing that too).</p>
<p>As for chem, I found Barons to be decent, but didn’t review much. </p>
<p>Most importantly, pick up the College Board Subject Test Sampler Book which contains 1 test from each subject. There you can gauge your current knowledge and recognize what you need to work on.</p>
<p>My GPA would be a 3.2 when i graduate ( assuming i get a 4.0gpa senior year). For the SAT what do you recommend? Also for SAT vocabulary</p>
