SAT Subject Tests

I hadn’t intended to take any subject tests (32 ACT) but I found out that MIT requires two subject tests. Seeing as I will be taking them so late, I will probably apply to other schools before getting my results back. Would it be necessary to send subjects tests to schools that don’t require it? Is there a benefit to waiting and applying after I’ve gotten my results?

This is what I heard from a person at Stanford Admission office a few years ago:

Sending subjects tests to schools that don’t require it might help your application a bit ONLY IF you got (or expect to get) a score commensurate with the school (the school’s expectation) or better. Otherwise, do not send it.

Good Luck!

Thanks! I will only send it to MIT then. None of my other schools require it.
