I am currently thinking of applying to University of Miami,UF, Harvard (early action), yale, columbia, duke, vanderbilt, northwestern, JHU, and maybe Tulane. However, my SAT Subject scores are not as high as I wanted them to be (720 for math 2, 650 for chem, and 670 on bio m) I’ve shown dedication to these subject areas and have taken AP bio (4) AP chem (3) and AP calculus AB (5). Should I be thinking about retaking these? there isn’t much time to do so before december deadlines and I was wondering whether high ACT and SAT scores will help balance out this weakness on my application (since a lot of the schools I’m apply to highly recommend subject tests.) There’s also other extracurricular activities that I believe will support my application as well. All opinions are appreciated.
All of the schools that you have mentioned have different policies on subject tests. You need to read the schools’ websites thoroughly.
I personally wouldn’t send them as they are just a bit too low.
If you can retake them and do better (700+ for Bio/Chem and 750+ for Math 2) without using much effort, then I would go for it.
If you have to study the concepts all over again, I would just leave them and focus on the essays.
High SAT/ACT scores don’t necessarily balance out your SAT 2 scores as they test different things.
