sat subject

hi! i am an international applicant and in our school system we don´t have any ap courses (actually, some but not all of the ap material is covered in our normal curriculum), plus some courses that you are offered at american high schools, we simply don´t have (english literature for ex)
so, i took the subject tests after self studying the material and i got 730 on world hs and 690 on literature… i know these are a bit low, so what do you think? are they ok, or should i be very anxious now? thanks for any replies…

This is just a personal preference, but for any Ivy League school, it is ideal to have two to three subject test scores above 700.

hi,
I dont see the connection between sat subject tests and ap classes (btw does your school offer AP, is it an international/american school?) 730 is fine, 690 is okay, but I think it will really work in your advantage is you take one more and study for it(the january test date??). From your name i guess u live in austria, so you speak german. You could take german, but I dont think it really counts:P Take french, most euros(like me) can do french.

well the sat subject tests basically test the material covered in the ap courses at american high schools… the problem with re-taking is, that i have to retake the sat 1 in january… and everything else will be too late… but they are not that important, right??

Theyre important, but depends on what your major will be etc. Also they look at the average of your subject tests, which is >700, so I think you will be fine. The adcoms will, I think, understand that we, internationals, have a completely different school system and so the subject matter covered in our school may be different than that covered in the subject tests.
