SAT tests in place of actual HS course?

I need to take Physics but my school allows only 6 classes. I don’t have space for it but I really feel like I need to take or at least show that I know Physics to increases my chances of getting into colleges. (Also, I really like science and actually wouldn’t mind learning some physics)
Would taking and doing well on an SAT Physics test show colleges that I know the subject even if I don’t take the class at school? Can the test act as a replacement to the course?
How would it affect college admissions? Thanks

It certainly wouldn’t act as a replacement for a HS course as AP/IB/A Levels are wayyy tougher and more demanding than a single SAT test

However, taking it and doing well in it will certainly show colleges that you know the subject and will round up your portfolio nicely which will only help you

I suggest go for it especially if most of the subjects you take in school now are humanities and such

The Physics subject test covers a LOOOOT of material. My entire physics class didn’t even cover electricity, magnetism, circuits, and heat. (Although to be fair we did a ton of extra stuff like rotational motion, fluid dynamics, and statics)

Physics as a whole is the biggest science… not the SAT test to self study for.
