SAT this year?

I’m currently a sophomore, and I am considering taking the SAT this May, with QAS. My PSAT was 209 (CR62, M67, W80).

Is there an advantage or disadvantage to taking it this Spring, rather than in October? I am planning on taking it 3 times, so what would the best schedule be for me:

May 2010, Oct 2010, Mar/May/Jun 2011?
Oct 2010, Mar/May/Jun 2011, Oct 2011?

Would it look terrible to colleges if I took it four times? I know that’s highly discouraged.

Thanks!

I wouldn’t go so far as to call taking the test four times “highly discouraged.”

You may want to spend some time during the summer practicing, and then take it in October and see how it works out then.

The second schedule looks better to me.

Really, with a solid PSAT score as you have, I think there is no need to take the SAT four times. Depending on where you live, (aka how high the bar is for National Merit Semi-Finalist), you would probably be well advised to spent a bit of time in the summer prepping for the PSAT. YOu will be taking the PSAT Oct 2010, so I would just go with SAT in spring 2010 and Fall 2011.
