I did poorly on my first SAT test in March. There is no way that I can considerably improve my score by the second approach in May. Would universities hold it against me if I take it again in my Senior year, in October, even if I score highly? Should I still take it again in May?

You’re not penalized for retaking in the fall, though that gives you less time to retake a third time if the second doesn’t go well. That means you’ll need to prep, prep, prep this summer to the point where you score consistently well on practice tests.

Thank you!
