<p>So, I’m taking the PSAT this October. I figured instead of waiting until the last minute like other people, I should start early and get ahead of the crowd. My question is this: What word lists should I memorize, what books should I buy and read (e.g. Direct Hits); essentially, what should I do to prepare for the SAT vocabulary-wise?</p>
<p>Direct Hits 1&2 are great (however if you look hard enough you can find a copy online). Since you have so much time, I would recommend Word Smart 1&2. I am not sure how many repeats there are between the Word Smart and Direct Hits, though.</p>
<p>I believe that the two best lists are DH and the Barron’s High Frequency Words. Sorry, but I don’t recommend Word Smart.</p>
