SAT vs. ACT in a different scenario

Alright, so I took the SAT and got a 2050, with a 7 on the writing. I took the ACT and got a 34 with an 8 on the writing. I really want to go to an Ivy and thusly am planning on taking subject tests in addition to the ACT. My dad is adamant about the idea that sending an ACT with SAT subject tests will look fishy to people in admissions and would keep me from getting in, therefore he is suggesting I retake the SAT. I really don’t see how that would make a difference, but I’m curious nonetheless. In addition I heard that if you send in your SAT subject tests your SAT automatically goes with it. I’m wondering whether its worth it to retake the SAT (or maybe even the ACT) for the sake of Ivy entrance.

I understand that there is more to admissions than tests but I am referring only to this aspect in this situation.

I have never heard anything of the sort. Colleges accept the ACT in lieu of the SAT.

Send your ACT and your SAT Subject Tests, ignore your SAT I.

Many schools allow you to omit SAT subject if you take ACT w/ writing.

That said, CharlesV is right. Send the better of your two scores in…
