SAT Writing Question

Hey, could someone please answer and explain the following question?
Thanks.

Though a) (far) less innovative b) (as a composer) of vocal and instrumental music, Georg Phillip Telemann was the c) (the most prolific of) either Johann Sebastian Bach d) (or) George Frideric Handel. E) (no error)

I thought the answer was no error, but apparently it’s C. Isn’t ‘most’ right in this context as more than two things/people are being compared? Please clarify this.
Thanks.

Also, I need help with this question.

In the novel Agnes Gray, Anne Bronte presented a fictionalized account (of both she and her sister’s bizarre experiences as teachers) in the houses of Victorian aristocrats.

A) Original choice
B) of both her and her sister’s bizarre experiences as teachers
C) of both she and her sister’s bizarre experiences teaching
D) about the bizarre experiences both her and her sister had as a teacher
E) about the bizarre experiences as teachers both her and her sister had

The correct choice is B.
Although I chose B, I’m not completely positive as to why B is the correct answer choice.
If someone could dissect each choice and explain why it’s wrong, that’d be great.

  1. "most" would work if there were three or more choices. But the phrase "of either Johann Sebastian Bach or George Frideric Handel" means (1) that there are only two choices and (2) that Telemann is NOT one of those choices. Logically, Telemann can't be the most "prolific" member of a set if he is not a member of the set.
  2. "of both she and her sister's bizarre experiences" is one of those compound phrases you can understand better if you mentally remove the second item: "of she bizarre experiences" ought to sound wrong, because "she" is not possessive. If you change it to "her," all is well.

Thanks Wasatch for the detailed response!

Hey, I came across another question:

Despite research (on the diagnosis of) heart disease and

the use of (increasingly) sophisticated technology

(in its treatment), the condition of coronary arteries (is)

still difficult to assess precisely. (No error)

The correct answer is E, but I chose C. Isn’t the pronoun 'i’t wrong, as it is referring to the diagnosis instead of heart disease? Please clarify. Thanks
